Trash Club Brooklyn is a registered nonprofit, action-driven, everybody-friendly organization focused making climate action accessible, informative and fun! We throw awesome cleanups and community events that teach sustainability, small-scale localized plastic recycling! We’re super excited to be part of the Precious Plastic mission as the
Precious Plastic Brooklyn Community Point.

Hi! I'm Elisabeth.
Trash Club Brooklyn kicked off in April 2024, thanks to my eight-year son, my buddy Thomas and me. We saw the crazy amount of plastic and trash piling along NYC’s shores and knew we had to do something. Over the past year, we’ve been joined by folks of all ages and backgrounds to help us keep our waterways clean through trash cleanups, recycling projects, and partnerships with NYC Parks, local businesses and schools. We even earned a grant from The Sanitation Foundation and became a Precious Plastic Community Point!
Our big dream is to roll out citywide small scale recycling programs and set up DIY recycling centers where everyone can repurpose their plastic waste.

About
Education
Through in-school workshops and field trip collaborations, we provide engaging educational programs on urban plastic waste and its impact on local and global ecosystems. Our main goal is to educate young people on how to identify, capture, sort, reduce, recycle, and reuse the thousands of tons of plastic waste generated by New Yorkers daily. We aim to empower individuals with the understanding of the considerable positive difference each person can make on the health of the earth and all of its inhabitants.
